Former Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder has voiced strong support for Jose Mourinho taking over at Real Madrid, calling the Portuguese coach the ideal candidate to lead the Spanish giants in the near future. As the club searches for a manager capable of handling a star-studded dressing room, Sneijder believes Mourinho fits the bill perfectly.
In a media interview, Sneijder highlighted the valuable experience he gained while playing under Mourinho. He emphasized that Mourinho’s greatest strength lies in managing the entire squad, not just the starting eleven. “Handling only 11 players is easy for any coach. The real challenge is managing a large group, especially with modern football squads expanding to up to 30 players,” Sneijder explained.
The former Real Madrid player also noted that the club needs a manager with a strong personality and the ability to control high-profile stars with diverse characters. “Mourinho has these qualities in abundance,” Sneijder added.
Concluding his remarks, Sneijder asserted that hiring Mourinho would be a highly intelligent decision for Real Madrid at this stage.
