Slavia Prague Forfeit Derby Against Sparta After Mass Pitch Invasion

Published on: 2026-05-13 | Author: admin

Slavia Prague have been penalized with a forfeited match against their local rivals Sparta Prague following a massive pitch invasion that forced the game to be abandoned. The incident occurred in stoppage time on Saturday, with Slavia leading 3-2 and on the verge of sealing the Czech league title at the Fortuna Arena, when hundreds of home supporters stormed the field.

As a result, the Czech football federation awarded Sparta a 3-0 victory and imposed a fine of 10 million Czech crowns (approximately £357,000) on Slavia. Additionally, Slavia must play their next four home matches behind closed doors. Sparta were also fined 600,000 Czech crowns (around £21,400) after their fans set off flares and caused damage to the stadium.
